Nature's Pantry - 19019 E 48th St S, Independence, MO

Nature’s Pantry wants to serve you breakfast and for a great cause!  For the past six years, we have held a Pancake Breakfast to benefit Rachel House Pregnancy Resource Centers.  Thanks to a dedicated staff, generous sponsors and a great turnout, we donated  $2353.00 the first year, $4231.14 the second, $1656.00 the third, $2000 the fourth, $4585.53 the fifth, and $3136.10 last year making a total of $17,961.77 toward Rachel House Pregnancy Resource Centers.

This year we are looking forward to surpassing our previous contributions, and with your help, we know it can be done!  All proceeds will go to further the work being done at Rachel House ministry and, as an added bonus, the owners of Nature’s Pantry will once again be matching the proceeds dollar for dollar.  In addition, Kohl’s Distribution Center in Blue Springs, through their “Kohl’s Cares for Kids” program will be providing at least 5 volunteers to help with the event, and will also donate $500 to Rachel House.  Thanks Kohl’s!

The Rachel House Pregnancy Resource Center opened in Blue Springs, Missouri, in January of 1992.  Founded by the LIGHT House of Kansas City, they became an independent, non-profit organization on February 20, 1998.  In March of 2003, the second center was opened, then a third center was added in May of 2004, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, which also serves as the Administrative Headquarters for the ministry.

Thousands of women receive pregnancy related services each year.  Each center offers free pregnancy tests, life-affirming ultrasound, and other confidential services.  Full-term OB medical clinic services are available in the Northland and Lee’s Summit locations.  Rachel House Clothing Centers provide maternity and baby clothing, baby items, and diapers for clients and their babies.  In 2005, 200 babies were born through the centers and 2200 pregnancy tests were performed.

The ministry is a Christ-centered, pro-life organization governed by a Board of Directors.  Paid and volunteer staff are committed to providing caring, quality services to those who come to them for help.  Rachel House is funded by private donations from individuals, churches, organizations, private foundation grant awards, and fund-raising events. They like to say that at Rachel House they are “making a difference two lives at a time.”
